GENERAL
Rules

GENERAL
-
During
any performance, if an animal escapes from the chute or
pens before it is called for, that animal will be brought
back after that performance with 2 or more of the same
animal.
-
If
contestant is given the wrong calf, contestant will be
given correct calf that was drawn for him/her, and the
time for the incorrect calf will be disregarded.
-
A
calf must be re-run before it is used by another
contestant.
-
No
re-runs will be given due to default or breakage of
contestant’s equipment.
Borrowed equipment is considered as contestant’s
own during competition.
-
Boys
may compete in breakaway roping if they are fourteen (14)
years of age or under on January 1st of the
year of competition.
-
Contestant
will be disqualified for any abusive treatment of calf or
roping horse.

Stock
charge increase from $5 to $8
Bareback
riding and saddle bronc riding will be open to anyone,
including out of state competitors and they will be able to
purchase an IRCA card.
If
any timed event contestant runs the wrong animal, not the one
drawn for him/her, he she will receive a no time and will not
get a rerun.
A
judges report form will be developed that not only indicates
measurements for each rodeo but indicates number of stock
draw, animals taken out
of the draw, fines suggested, and any special circumstances
that may occur. This
sheet is to be signed by each judge and turned in to the rodeo
secretary. The
rodeo secretary will submit the report to the IRCA secretary
with the rodeo results. This report will stay on file with the
IRCA secretary until the end of the current season.
IRCA
stock contractors have to produce 2 IRCA first and/or 5
co-approved rodeos in the current year to bring stock to the
finals.
Rodeo
committees that hire non-IRCA stock contractors or produce
their own rodeos by hiring subcontractors will pay a cash bond
of $500 to be refunded if no rule infractions are caused by
the contractor or committee’s rodeo secretary.
A
list of contestants and their draw will be placed at the
roping chute for the timed events for the judges to check off
drawn animals as they are run and mark barrier penalties and
possible fines, such as dragging, etc.
All
new IRCA rodeo secretaries pass a written test prior to the
first rodeo they will work each year. {The test could be
prepared by the judging director, association officers,
directors, and/or any combination of these officials.
Entry
fees for open calf roping will be $50
A
gate shall be considered a “center gate” only if the first
barrel and the second barrel are the same distance from the
center of the center of the gate with a 4’ maximum leeway on
either side.
Barrel
measurements will be posted with the draw at each rodeo and
labeled clearly “CENTER GATE” or “NOT CENTER GATE”
Winter
rodeos may be co approved but do not have to be in the state
of
Iowa
, with board approval.
By-law
Change
Rough
stock only events that are approved by the IRCA will count
towards year end standings at the finals, excluding the all
around points. Contestant must still participate in 6 IRCA
rodeos to be eligible for the finals and year end awards and
can not count the rough stock event as 1. All events must be
board approved and must be rough stock only, no timed events.
