LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello everyone, well finals time is here already!  The Osceola fair board has made some big improvements this year.  There are permanent lights for the arena now and new bathrooms also.  There will also be some entertainment before and after the rodeo performances, which is listed out in the newsletter so please take part and let them know we appreciate them!  You will receive a packet of information at check in time be sure and look at the order of events and in which order you ride to make sure you are ready when called upon.  Todd Crase will be arena director on Friday and Sunday, he does an excellent job to keep things moving, so let's help him out also.  The electrical hook ups and stalls will be first come, first serve basis again.  All mounted contestants will be expected to ride in grand entry so be sure to check with your director.  We will also be doing a victory lap again so if you are leading your event please be sure to stick around so the flag girls don't have to hunt you down.  We will be voting in new directors and a new president so if you are interested please let us know.  If you have any sponsorship ads or anyone wanting to place a good luck ad please be sure to get it to me by the 29th of September so it will get in our program book.  If you have questions or ideas for the finals be sure to let me know.  I look forward to a good weekend!

ATTENTION - NEW EVENT ADDED - The Jason Clemons Benefit has been added on September 16th in Winterset.  See Schedule for details.

ATTENTION SADDLE RAFFLE TICKETS - The Saddle Raffle has been changed to a dirt bike or option of $400.  Your Saddle Raffle Tickets can be exchanged for $10 worth of dirt bike raffle tickets.

The forms you will need for the Contestant Sponsors and Membership Applications are found in the Member's section.

RULE PROPOSALS

OPTION OF RULE:

1. An experienced judge shall not be required to attend a  clinic if given prior board approval.  Written tests may be required or waived at board’s discretion.

1a.  All new judges must apprentice at least one rodeo with an experienced judge.

1b. After apprenticeship is complete, the new judge will either be approved or denied by the board.

RULE PROPOSAL:

We should be able to co-approve any rodeo, anywhere. It would open the door for the membership to hit more rodeos, than ever.

RULE PROPOSAL  PAGE 17

Once a contestant has crossed the plane of the gate, the contestant can not exit the arena to set back up then re-enter or contestant will be disqualified.  The judges decision is final.

The contestant is allowed as many assistants as necessary to get to the gate.  The assistant(s) can not cross the plane of the gate or the contestant will be disqualified.  Judges decision is final.

RULE PROPOSAL: O/40  & CR

Any calf roper that is eligible to compete in open and Over 40 must designate which event they are entering at an IRCA approved rodeo.  Only one event may be entered at a time at a rodeo.
