NEWS April 2006

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Hello everyone,

Hope all is well.  Our 2006 season has officially started.  Oskaloosa was April 28 and 29th with Heartland providing the stock.  The first rodeo of the season will be June 3rd and 4th in Woodburn with Rite ‘N Gear and the Pony Express.  We are trying something new this year on a trial basis; we will be approving bull ridings.  I think people need to understand from a business standpoint why we chose to do this and also read the guidelines that are set forth.  We have lost a couple of good rodeos this year and need to make up some ground somewhere.  This is a good opportunity to attain more members and also bring some money into the association.  Shad Smith with SS Bull Company will be putting on a majority of the events and will be sanctioned with BOA and NFPB.  I would like to thank Kim Wing once again for providing us with a copier and fax machine donated by her work.  I look forward to meeting the new members and also seeing the old members once again.  Please remember our sponsorship programs, every little bit helps.  Take care and see you down the road.

  Michelle Waldhauser

There will be a board meeting on June 3rd at 1pm at Woodburn , IA.   I will let Maxine know to let you enter for that day.  If you are not able to make this meeting I would like you to get hold of me beforehand

BULLRIDING GUIDELINES:  BULLRIDING EVENTS THAT ARE APPROVED BY THE IRCA WILL COUNT TOWARDS YEAR END STANDINGS AT THE FINALS, EXCLUDING THE ALL AROUND POINTS.  CONTESTANT MUST COMPETE IN 6 IRCA EVENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FINALS AND YEAR END REWARDS.  ALL EVENTS MUST BE BOARD APPROVED WITH NO TIMED EVENTS.
